Today's protest was a enormous success - surprising everyone with the size of the turnout and strength of feeling expressed. Another clear sign of how parents, children and the residents of Ryde as a whole, feel about Greenmount and how much it brings to the town.
A huge thank you to the Greenmount Samba and dancers - another truly brilliant performance and celebration of what is so great about the Greenmount community. Thanks to all who carried banners and distributed leaflets- and above all thanks to the people of Ryde for all your words of support.

Thanks also to those from St Mary's, St Helen's, Wroxall and Gurnard who joined us - the very best wishes for their campaigns for their local schools.
Today's turn-out was even more evidence that if we lose Greenmount the carnival and the town will be much the worse for it.

What a great day. I am so glad we had so many turn out, and I hope it got us noticed. Did you see all the people in throntons gawping? I think we definitely made a statement. Great to see all the people from St Marys, Gurnard and St. Helens!! A success I think.
Any school that has such energy and enthusiasm and creativity on display, as was shown on Saturday, deserves to stay open for the sake of the children who would benefit from that. I live in Oxfordshire but was visiting Ryde on Saturday and was really impressed by the music and the parade - and I could not stop my foot tapping! N. Bate
I thought Saturday's march was a fantastic and inspirational celebration of Greenmount's community links. And how nice to see other schools had come along to join us too. Well done everyone.
P.S I was wondering if Councillor Arthur Taylor joined in the hip shaking? I was under the impression he was a Greenmount School Governor. Has he forgotten?
